  • CUCCIO is Canada’s community of information technology leaders in higher education, working together to help Canadian universities excel through the innovative and effective use of IT. We achieve this by helping Canada’s university communities to teach, learn, research, manage and communicate by driving IT innovation.
  • CUCCIO is a non-profit, member-funded corporation representing more than 60 universities Canada-wide, who collectively serve over 90% of Canada’s university students.
  • Incorporated in 2006, CUCCIO is the result of close to 40 years of information-sharing, collaboration, knowledge creation and advocacy among provincial and regional associations of IT leaders in post-secondary education.
  • CUCCIO is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors composed of no fewer than 10 directors elected from the membership.
  • CUCCIO is managed by a professional Executive Director with experience as a CIO in the university and government sectors, Lori MacMullen.
  • CUCCIO's activities focus on:
    • Fostering best practices in information and communications technology management among Canadian universities,
    • Building and sustaining relationships with governments, government agencies, corporations and other groups of interest to higher education in order to advance the shared interests of Canadian universities,
    • Identifying programs and services to support leadership development for IT Staff in Canadian Universities,
    • Advancing sector-wide collaborative efforts and shared services, and;
    • Managing CUCCIO's resources and activities to ensure the needs of the members are met, the resources (time and money) are leveraged and the organization is transparent and accountable to its member
